Naturism in Iceland

The purpose of this website

The purpose of this website is:

  • To inform people (especially in Iceland) about naturism.
  • To give good advice about naturism.
  • To gather people (in Iceland) with like interest in order to meet and to arrange something together in the spirit of naturism.
  • To establish a naturist club in Iceland if there is enough interest for it. The benefit of establishing a naturist club is that it is possible to register it with the INF (International Naturist Federation) in order to permit entrance to more naturist resorts aboard (many, although not all, naturist resorts in some countries require INF membership for entrance).
  • To advise foreign naturists who come to Iceland as tourists of our naturist possibilities.

There is no tradition of naturism or nudism in Iceland. That’s why there are so many misunderstandings among people about nudity. Most people find it strange that anybody would like to be naked together with other people. They associate it only with sex but naturism has no more to do with sex than any other fellowship. The difference is just that you are naked when you have the opportunity for it.

Considerable information and changes of attitude about nudity are needed in Iceland. There have been so many negative discussions going on in Iceland these last years. That’s why people connect nudity with something negative. When a newspaper or a magazine publishes pictures of naked or half naked people, people often consider it to be pornographic, just because of the nudity. It is obvious what these people are thinking when they see nudity! .
It is also the purpose of this website to change this attitude towards nudity.
